On the island of Hermannswerder, in the heart of Potsdam and yet far from the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle, you can find one of the most beautiful Advent markets in the region.
The atmospheric market begins with a musical church service at 14:00 p.m. in the candlelit island church. Young and old gather around the fire at 16:00 p.m. for communal singing. And at 17:30 p.m., the choirs of the Hermannswerder Protestant Gymnasium invite everyone to a concert in the church.
Bathed in romantic light, colorful market stalls open their doors. Homemade cookies and stollen, international Christmas specialties, creative jewelry, fine and hearty food and drinks, books, handicrafts, and gift ideas are offered by the Hoffbauer Foundation's facilities, artisans, and restaurateurs.
