A turbulent Christmas story freely adapted from Friedrich Wolf (5+)

The opera singer Ludwig Löwenhaupt buys a live goose, which is to be served with red cabbage and stewed apples on Christmas Eve. Until then, the goose is to be kept in a crate in the potato cellar. The children, Peter and Ellie, take care of the goose and name her Auguste (Gustje). Little Peter even insists that Auguste be allowed to sleep in the children's room and secretly takes her to bed with him. When the father wants to send Auguste to goose heaven shortly before Christmas, it's not just the goose who raises a huge fuss.
