Babelsberg - Film stars, villas, world history

guided tour / tour
Film
The Potsdam villa colony of Neu-Babelsberg lies directly on the Griebnitzsee lake and holds fascinating histories. It was home to prominent figures, including film stars like Brigitte Horney and Marika Rökk. Mies van der Rohe built one of his first houses in the district, and Erich Kästner found refuge here during the Nazi era. During the Potsdam Conference in 1945, heads of state, including former US President Truman, resided here and made world-changing decisions.
