Guided kayak tour - Potsdam's dream landscape
A picture-perfect guided kayak tour: the landscape of castles, parks, and lakes between Berlin and Potsdam represents the pinnacle of 19th-century Romantic landscape design. At the same time, it was a stage for 20th-century events: Truman, Churchill, and Stalin resided here during the Potsdam Conference, and later the death strip of the Berlin Wall ran through this area. Agents were exchanged on the famous Glienicke Bridge, and in 1989, German reunification was celebrated here.
But this tour is also scenically interesting. On the northern side of Lake Griebnitzsee, we find a natural shoreline with fallen trees and reeds – a habitat for grey herons, cormorants, and beavers, among others.
The paddling is done at a leisurely pace in stable kayaks (two-person and single) with plenty of stops. No prior experience is necessary.
Duration: 3 hours, Length: approx. 7 km
Start and finish at Griebnitzsee train station, meeting point: bike and canoe station in the station hall
