Faith, Power and the Military - Permanent Exhibition
The Garrison Church represents 300 years of German and European history. Like a mirror, it symbolically reflects rise and fall, is intertwined with human achievements and failures, and stands for the difficult path of democratic state formation. Here, in a 250-square-meter space, you will find an exciting and fascinating presentation: some 350 objects, films, audio files, and interactive media bring history to life, encouraging critical thinking, reflection, and discussion. The exhibition spans from Prussian King Frederick William I through the Weimar Republic, the Nazi dictatorship, and the GDR era to German reunification and the debate surrounding the reconstruction of the Garrison Church. The ambivalent history of Prussia and Potsdam is linked to contemporary issues. Remembering the past, shaping the future, living peace and democracy: this is what the tower of the rebuilt Garrison Church is all about.
