François Leleux and the KAP welcome the new year with lively classics by Offenbach, Strauss and Mozart
Ring in the New Year with a bang! An overture and spirited quadrilles by Jacques Offenbach invite you to a cheerful divertissement, as do selected pieces by Johann Strauss: be it his lively Pizzicato Polka, the timeless waltz The Blue Danube, or the carefree Sanssouci Quadrille. Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante brings virtuosic brilliance, while operatic music by Gioacchino Rossini ignites Italian passion.
With Leroy Anderson's humorous Sandpaper Ballet, lively dances from L'Arlésienne by Georges Bizet and the sensual Oblivion by Astor Piazzolla, the program spans from waltz bliss to tango passion – a sparkling end to the year full of wit and joie de vivre.
