Four violinists from the KAP ignite virtuoso string magic with works by Bach, Geminiani, Fux and Saint-Saëns.
Violinissimo enters its third round! Once again, we can expect a spectacular and surprising soundscape that puts the brilliance and expressiveness of the violin front and center – from the Baroque era to the present day, from captivating solo literature to sophisticated arrangements. Whether in the virtuosic solo of Francesco Geminiani or the artful voice leading of Johann Josef Fux, whether playfully witty as in Dancla's charming take on the motif from "Tomorrow Comes Santa Claus" or evocative as in Saint-Saëns' dazzling Dance of the Skeletons, whether in Vivaldi's rapid and sparkling summer storm or in the monumental highlight of the evening, Bach's famous Chaconne: The masterpieces of this evening unfold a new dimension full of contrasts, joy of playing, and unexpected timbres – all under the sign of the violin.
