Oscar Murillo. Collective osmosis

exhibition
Colombian-born artist Oscar Murillo transforms the interior and exterior spaces of MINSK into a vibrant setting for an experiment in exchange and community. With his project "Collective Osmosis," Murillo creates a dialogue between his contemporary painting practice, his installations, and the Impressionist works of Claude Monet.

The exhibition highlights the inherent potential in every human being to create artistic gestures with a brush, hand, or pen. The term osmosis, used in the title, describes in science how water particles move through a semipermeable membrane to establish a state of equilibrium. Murillo uses this metaphor to describe the opening up of the museum: his exhibition creates permeability and exchange between inside and outside, between the museum and the city, and between Potsdam and the world. The project also marks the first collaboration between MINSK and the Museum Barberini: works by Oscar Murillo are on display in both institutions.
