Inner reflection with Liza Ferschtman and the KAP: Music by Shostakovich, Raminta Šerkšnytė and the Bach family
Liza Ferschtman's deep love for music is audible in every note she plays. The Dutch violinist and the KAP enjoy a close collaboration, characterized by an unbridled curiosity that opens up new sonic dimensions. She returns to the Friedenskirche with a musical journey from the Baroque era through Romanticism and Soviet Modernism to the present day.
Raminta Šerkšnytė's music captivates with its poetic essence. Dense textures and melancholy permeate her "Winter Night," which subtly interweaves the works of the Bach family this evening. Shostakovich also draws on the Baroque tradition in his Violin Sonata, where powerful emotions such as fear of death and hope are portrayed with particular musical impact within the atmosphere of the church.
