"Sketch of a Summer" brings André Kubiczek's Potsdam novel to the "Theater Ship Potsdam" as an atmospheric reading with music. Isabell Gerschke and Christian Näthe combine reading, song, and music into a literary and musical evening full of summer feeling and memories of the 1980s.

1985, Potsdam, summer holidays.
Sixteen-year-old René is spending his summer vacation alone at home with 1000 marks. His mother is dead, and his father is away. In the coming weeks, René and his friends experience a summer unlike any they'll ever see again. The boys roam the hot, deserted city and sit in cafés—but above all, they're trying to find the right girl…

The renowned actress Isabell Gerschke and the actor and singer Christian Näthe began their on-stage collaboration that evening. They read from the novel, perform music, and sing songs that also appear in the book and are relevant to the protagonist. Music from the 80s, The Cure, etc.

Isabell Gerschke is a well-known film and television actress, known for her roles in shows such as "Polizeiruf 110," "In aller Freundschaft," and "Heiter bis tödlich: Akte Ex." She studied pop vocals at the Musicians Institute Hollywood in 1999 and completed stage dance training at Danceworks in Berlin.
Actor and singer Christian Näthe (singer of the cult band "Hasenscheisse", which he founded in 1990 with his friend Matthias Mengert) is known as a film actor, including appearances in "Mit Herz und Holly", "Wilsberg", and "Fack ju Göhte". He started his film career at the age of 13 in the film "Feriengewitter" and recently appeared in the TV series "Hijack" (UK).
