Ukrainian metal bands Dark-Folk Folkulaka & Death-Grind Tsytska
On September 12th, two completely different, but equally distinctive voices of the contemporary metal scene from Ukraine will meet on the stage of the Potsdam Kulturpalast archive.
FOLKULAKA – a dark horror folk band from Kyiv that transforms Ukrainian folklore into chilling tales of werewolves, vampires, witches, and a centuries-long war. Their songs blend ancient mythology, modern sound, and the desire for the death of their enemies, a sentiment familiar to many Ukrainians.
TSYTSKA – one of the most renowned all-female bands in the Ukrainian extreme metal scene. Their signature velvet deathgrind blends aggressive death/grind, accordion, classical vocals, and dark humor. In their lyrics, they transform uncomfortable, absurd, and taboo topics into brutal satire, shattering all preconceived notions of what metal should be on stage.
