Miniature theatre

A socialist housing estate: The morning bus ride, queuing at the department store, leafing through fashion magazines, Spartakiads, mass gymnastics – it's the communist era of "normalization" in Czechoslovakia, monotonous and full of weariness. On a stage the size of an old television, alien designs merge with authentic details to create an atmospheric diorama of the 80s. Uniformity, a strictly regulated and meticulously organized life – "Loops & Hoops" combines paper puppet theater with multimedia precision, nostalgia with a critique of nostalgia, and portrays a time as a delusional, absurd, and never-ending mass phenomenon.

The team around the visual artist and puppeteer Dominik Migač Migač combines experimental object theatre with minimalist precision. Known for creating sophisticated theatrical microworlds, Migač forms a trio with director and actress Marta Migač and actor and puppeteer Jan Pichler, who look back on many years of collaboration at shared venues. The collective combines innovative stage forms with social and historical themes into a unique audiovisual performance, employing cross-disciplinary forms of expression.
