URANIA Courtyard Concert: Jazz Duo Wallbrecht

Every summer, the courtyard of URANIA Potsdam in the Dutch Quarter is transformed into an open-air concert hall for the traditional URANIA Courtyard Concert. This year on stage: The jazz duo Wallbrecht from Potsdam! 

They arranged their first meeting at the doorman's. It wasn't just a one-off rehearsal. Thus, in the early 90s, the future jazz duo Wallbrecht was formed at the music academy. Performances as a duo, trio, and in various quartet formations followed. Roswitha had always had a passion for composing, while Mark had more of a knack for arranging.
Gradually, more and more of their own compositions filled the program. "You sound most authentic in your pieces," an enthusiastic audience member told them after the concert. Roswitha writes compositions that tell stories. Influences from classical, jazz, and pop music blend into ever-new soundscapes in which every musician can fully express themselves.
The listener is taken on a journey where much seems familiar and new at the same time.
