The Potsdam Oratorio Choir invites you to its festive Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach, featuring cantatas IV to VI. We will take the listener into the second part of the Christmas story: from the naming of Jesus and the encounter of the Magi with the newborn King to the Holy Family's flight to Egypt.
With radiant choruses, heartfelt chorales, festive instrumental movements, and moving arias, this performance unfolds the full diversity of Bach's world-famous Christmas music. The cantatas tell of joy and trust, but also of threat and the search for protection, bringing the Christmas story to life in all its human and spiritual depth.
The Potsdam Oratorio Choir performs together with soloists and the New Potsdam Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Cantor Fabian Pasewald.
