Workshop: Baltic Style!
Ribbons with read patterns
Ribbons have been woven throughout history and across the globe. A special technique for decorating these ribbons developed around the Baltic Sea. In this technique, colored warp threads are "picked" by hand from the warp, so that they appear on the surface of the fabric. This floating process creates endlessly varied patterns. In this workshop, we will try our hand at making traditional Sami shoelaces.
This workshop is aimed at weavers who have already participated in the "Comb Weaving for Beginners" course or who already have experience with comb weaving.
