Café Matschke is located between the New Garden and the Russian Colony Alexandrowka. Its proximity to the colony is reflected in the ambiance and menu: in a cozy living-room atmosphere with a tiled stove and antique furniture, they offer traditional dishes like schnitzel and chicken ragout, as well as Russian pelmeni and borscht. For lighter fare, there are quiches, soups of the day, salads, homemade cakes, and a small selection of sweet desserts.
Seating is available in the three small rooms on the ground and first floors, as well as in the planted courtyard. A special feature of the gallery café is its regularly changing exhibitions and readings.
