The Alexander House is a listed building on the shore of Lake Groß Glienicke in the Potsdam district of Groß Glienicke. It was built in 1927 as a weekend and summer home for the family of Dr. Alfred Alexander, a Jewish physician and then-president of the Berlin Medical Association. He and his family fled to England during the Nazi era, where many of his descendants still live today. The house stood empty from 2003 until 2013, when the Alexander House Association was founded with the aim of transforming it into a place of education and reconciliation. Members of the Alexander family are also members of the association. The house is a historically significant place not only because of the family's fate during the Nazi era, but also because of the GDR period: until 1989, the Berlin Wall separated the house from the lake.
Yasmeen Akhta is the new director of the Alexander House. The center for interreligious dialogue was opened on June 16, 2019.
