A boat trip on the charming waterways around Potsdam is a popular leisure activity. Sailing and motorboats can be rented annually from the Aufs-Wasser.com sailing school at the Potsdam marina during the season from April to the end of October. Five sailing dinghies for four people and four Optimists, as well as two 20 hp motorboats, are available for rent. A sailing license is required for the dinghies and Optimists, and an inland waterway boating license is required for the motorboats. Life jackets are provided.
From Potsdam marina, a sailing trip across Lake Templin is a great option. Motorboats offer the opportunity to explore the idyllic Havel waterways around Potsdam, all the way to Berlin.
The sailing school offers courses for children and adults who want to learn to sail or obtain inland and coastal boating licenses as well as VHF radio operator certificates. Free trial sailing sessions are available at the school's own sailing club. Sailing camps for children are also offered during the summer holidays.
