Belvedere observation tower Pfingstberg

Observation towers
At over 100 meters above sea level, visitors can enjoy "Potsdam's most beautiful view" from the towers of the Belvedere Pfingstberg.

The Belvedere was planned by Frederick William IV as a vast complex with terraces, cascades, and colonnades, modeled on Italian Renaissance villas. During the two construction phases from 1847 to 1852 and from 1861 to 1863, the architects Ludwig Persius, Ludwig Ferdinand Hesse, and Friedrich August Stüler realized the twin-tower structure. It encloses the inner courtyard with a reflecting pool, surrounded by arcades, colonnades, and galleries. From these, one can access two cabinets in the Moorish and Roman-Pompeian styles.

The historic ensemble was restored from 1992 onwards on the initiative of the Pfingstberg Support Association using donated funds and today again offers a breathtaking panoramic view over Potsdam and the Havel lakes.
