Potsdam Education Forum

galleries & studios
As a shared building housing the Potsdam City and State Library (SLB), the "Albert Einstein" Adult Education Center (VHS), and the Science Center (WIS), the Potsdam Education Forum offers a unique range of services. It is an informative and engaging meeting place for education, media, and science in the heart of Potsdam, the capital of Brandenburg. As a center for lifelong learning, it provides suitable programs for all age groups and user groups under one roof – whether it's an exhibition at the WIS, a course at the VHS, or reading promotion at the SLB, everything is easily accessible. For example, someone preparing for a vacation in Spain can attend a Spanish course at the VHS on the second floor and then find the necessary language course, Spanish travel guide, and vacation novel to borrow at the SLB. While parents attend a lecture on scientific topics at the WIS on the fourth floor, children can listen to exciting stories read aloud by volunteer readers in the library's children's area on designated days. In the learning workshop on the upper floor of the SLB, you can take advantage of computer consultations, supervised learning for basic education, and advice on e-lending. A café on the ground floor invites you to refresh yourself and enjoy a meal. Joint event series, such as "The Lunchbox," "Historical Perspectives," and "Literature in Conversation," complement the individual offerings of the various partners in the Education Forum. A printed program of events is available on all floors.
