For independent sightseeing, visitors to Potsdam can choose from various smartphone-guided tours. Tour 2 takes 60 to 90 minutes through the historic city center. The starting point is the main train station. From there, the tour leads via the Old Market Square, past the new state parliament building (built on the site of the former city palace), to the New Market Square. The tour then follows the reconstructed city canal towards the Brandenburg Gate at Luisenplatz. There, you can switch to Tour 4, which leads into Sanssouci Park. The Dutch Quarter is the next destination. Via Friedrich-Ebert-Straße, you will reach the main train station again in approximately 15 minutes.
Following the designated route, information about the sights can be accessed via mobile phone. All that's required is a call to a German landline. There are no additional costs. The respective tour flyer with the locations of the sights is available at the Tourist Information Office. Alternatively, the locations, including audio files, can be downloaded to your smartphone via an app.
