For independent exploration, visitors to Potsdam can choose from various mobile-guided tours. Tour 3, "Am Heiliger See" (At the Holy Lake), takes 2,5 to 3 hours and leads through the World Heritage sites in northern Potsdam. The tour starts and ends in the Russian settlement of Alexandrowka. Other stops include the Belvedere on Pfingstberg (Whitsun Hill), Cecilienhof Palace in the New Garden, and the Marble Palace on the Holy Lake. The route can also be cycled. Within the UNESCO-protected parks, please use the designated cycle paths, which differ from the route shown on the map.
Following the designated route, information about the sights can be accessed via mobile phone. All that's required is a call to a German landline. There are no additional costs. The respective tour flyer with the locations of the sights is available at the Tourist Information Office. Alternatively, the locations, including audio files, can be downloaded to your smartphone via an app.
