Museum Barberini

Museums
The Old Market Square, Potsdam's historical center, was designed in the mid-18th century under Frederick II, modeled on Italian examples. Destroyed in World War II, the square was gradually rebuilt, and by 2017 the Palais Barberini had been completed, housing the Museum Barberini ever since. The Baroque Palazzo Barberini in Rome served as its model. Located in close proximity to the reconstructed former City Palace (now the seat of the Brandenburg State Parliament), St. Nicholas' Church, and the Old Town Hall, the Museum Barberini has established itself as an international art museum with top-class exhibitions.

A comprehensive program of events and educational activities accompanies the exhibitions, inviting young and old to engage in lively discussions about art. Barberini Digital also connects to this. With a changing selection of online offerings related to the exhibitions, the museum brings the artworks and the stories behind the paintings into the digital realm, enabling new ways to experience art.

The combination ticket for the Museum Barberini and DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam allows one entry to each and is valid for 48 hours. This makes it possible to visit both museums on two consecutive days. Since both museums are closed on Tuesdays, a ticket purchased on Monday is valid until Wednesday.
