New Chambers of Sanssouci in Sanssouci Park

castles and parks
The New Chambers, along with the New Palace, are Frederick the Great's second guest palace. Originally built as an orangery 20 years earlier, the king decided to convert it into a guest palace in 1768. Today it is considered a late example of Frederician Rococo architecture.

Due to their proximity to Sanssouci Palace, the New Chambers were primarily intended for the king's closest friends and acquaintances. The importance he placed on his guests is evident in the lavishly decorated state rooms and apartments, featuring impressive spatial compositions adorned with jewelry and gold ornamentation.
