Villa Schöningen is an exhibition space for contemporary art in Potsdam. Located at the Glienicke Bridge, once one of the most famous border crossings between East and West, the villa is a historically unique place in a historically unique location. Designed by Ludwig Persius in the Italianate villa style, the villa now hosts rotating exhibitions of high-caliber contemporary art. With its internationally acclaimed art exhibitions, Villa Schöningen has become a firmly established institution in the Berlin and Brandenburg cultural landscape. The themes of German division and the Cold War are repeatedly addressed and explored in the exhibitions. The villa's park also regularly features rotating sculpture exhibitions that, in the broadest sense, engage with the spirit of the place. In addition, the villa offers a café that invites visitors to linger and enjoy the atmosphere.
