Along the lakeside promenade to Potsdam city center (from the Kongresshotel Potsdam)

The congress hotel is located directly on the lakeside promenade. A stroll towards the city leads past the delicate bandstand, built in the Roaring Twenties. Directly opposite is the former regatta house. It served as a restaurant for visitors to the newly constructed regatta course and for swimmers at the nearby public bathing area. What began as a land and water sports center is now an Olympic training center and a flagship sports venue far beyond Potsdam. Accompanied by the waves of the Havel River, the path continues along the water to the steam engine house. Due to its oriental architectural style, it is also known as the Mosque of Potsdam. From here, the path leads on into the city center.

Tip: A stroll from the congress hotel towards Geltow offers a particularly good view of the vastness of the Havel River and its lakes. The path leads along the lakeside promenade past rowers, small boat harbors, and old trees – with plenty of quiet spots to pause and reflect.
