European long-distance hiking trail E11 – From Ferch to Potsdam

The starting point for this stage is Ferch-Lienewitz train station. The road initially leads to the Kleiner Lienewitzsee (Little Lienewitz Lake). There are plenty of beautiful photo opportunities along the lakeside path. Passing a small settlement, the route continues to the Großer Lienewitzsee (Great Lienewitz Lake), which is circumnavigated for about a quarter of its length. The bathing area at the end of the lake invites a first break before heading towards the Schwielowsee (Schwielow Lake). The route crosses the marshland of the Caputher See (Caputh Lake), where picturesque deciduous forests and wooded areas alternate. Half of the Caputher See is circumnavigated. In Caputh, the castle and Einstein's summer house are located along the path. Leaving the town, the forest path leads over the ridge past the Templiner See (Templin Lake). The Templin forester's lodge offers another opportunity for a break. For a short stretch, the path leaves the ridge before reaching the Templiner Vorstadt (Templin Suburb) via the forest path. Templiner Straße leads to Potsdam Central Station.
