Großbeeren - Potsdam: Stage 6 of the Berlin Circus

Between Großbeeren and Potsdam, the stately capital of Brandenburg, life is rather peaceful and relaxed. While the start and finish areas are bustling with people, the route meanders from one village to the next. Highlights here include the beautiful old churches and castles. Those interested in learning more about the lives of the people in this region should visit the local history museum in Sputendorf. Here, everyday objects from bygone days are displayed with great attention to detail.

• Güterfelde: Güterfelde Castle
• Bergholz Rehbrücke: vintage car museum
• Potsdam: historic city center, palaces and gardens of the Brandenburg-Prussian kings

Possible combinations:
Berlin-Leipzig cycle route: Start in Lichtenrade on the Berlin-Leipzig long-distance cycle route and turn onto the cycle route Around Berlin (RuB) in Groß Machnow.
The Havel Cycle Path runs alongside the RuB route for several kilometers near both Oranienburg and Werder. Tip: from Potsdam, take a detour around Lake Templin.
The Fontane Cycle Path: between Potsdam and Brieselang, it follows almost exactly the same route as the RuB (Rhein-Berg-Bahn). It also runs along a short section of the same route north of Oranienburg.
