From the Caputh Boats rental (www.caputh-boote.de, Gelbe Welle), head east onto Lake Templin, under the railway bridge, past the Potsdam Olympic Training Center towards Potsdam city center, past the Kiewitt ferry, and continue until you see St. Nicholas Church and the Potsdam Speicherstadt (warehouse district) ahead. Turn right here to circumnavigate Hermannswerder Island. Navigate through the shallow, narrow Judengraben (Jewish Ditch), past the Inselhotel (Island Hotel) into Lake Templin, again under the railway bridge, and past the Templin Forestry Office towards Caputh Palace, your starting point.
