Directions: The hike starts at Caputh Schwielowsee train station and leads you along the river promenade to the Caputh ferry and on through the town of Caputh to the Einstein House. Continue to the Templin Forestry House. Cross the Havel River via the railway bridge and continue on the left past the Seminaris SeeHotel Potsdam and the Sanssouci Camping Park, always following the Havel. There is a bathing area at Lake Petzin where you can take a break. The hike continues to Geltow. At the entrance to Geltow, immediately after the railway crossing, keep left. Shortly before reaching Caputher Chaussee, turn left through the forest along the Wentorfgraben stream and then continue to the Baumgarten Bridge, which you cross. At the roundabout, turn left and continue towards Petzow, passing the Precise Resort Schwielowsee. Behind the former writers' residence, the hiking trail leads off the road to the left to Petzow Palace Park and through it, via Löcknitz, to Ferch-Mittelbusch. The trail follows the water to the "Haus am See" (House by the Lake) and from there through the Mühlengrund (Mill Valley) past the Ferch Marina and the "Hotel Bootsklause" to the Ferch lido. Behind the Ferch campsite, a climb—rewarded with a beautiful view over Lake Schwielowsee—leads to the Huteeichenweg (Pasture Oak Path), which rejoins the Ferch-Caputh road near Flottstelle. Here, the path leads you once more through the forest to the entrance of Caputh (turning point). Continue to Schwielowsee train station, and on the lakeside promenade, you can conclude your hike with a view of Lake Schwielowsee.
