From Spandau to the island of Imchen

The tour starts in the northern part of Spandau, in the Wasserstadt district, and follows the Havel River to Imchen Island in the Großer Wannsee lake. Along the way, you'll pass two more islands: Eiswerder Island, once an important Prussian military base with the Royal Fireworks Laboratory, and the Citadel, an impressive Renaissance fortress with a military past, now a significant arts and cultural center. The route continues past the Südhafen (South Harbor) to Scharfe Lanke, where water sports providers and clubs line the shores. In Gatow, you'll find the Kleine Badewiese (Little Bathing Meadow) and the Große Badewiese (Large Bathing Meadow) – perfect for a break and a refreshing dip. Passing Villa Lemm, once the residence of the commander of the British Sector of Berlin, you'll reach the Neukladow Manor Park, whose picturesque manor house on a plateau offers arguably the most beautiful view of the Wannsee. Finally, you will reach the port of Kladow, Spandau's Riviera, with a wide range of excursion restaurants and cafes. Opposite lies the island of Imchen, an uninhabited nature reserve and home to grey herons, cormorants and the rare black kite.

Detour: A detour to Little Venice is worthwhile. Here you can paddle in a relaxed atmosphere without motorboat or sailboat traffic.
shore leave: It is possible to go ashore at the bathing areas Kleine Badewiese and Große Badewiese.

The tour includes passing through the Spandau lock. There is a trolley for canoes that can be used.
